The job location is Egina field which is located at water depths of between 1,400 and 1,700 meters, 200 kilometers offshore from the city of Port Harcourt.
The project is based on a sub sea production system connected to a FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel) designed to hold 2.3 million barrels of oil. Weighing close to 220,000 metric tons and measuring 330 meters long by 60 meters wide. The FPSO is connected to 44 sub sea wells 1,600 meters deep and will produce 200,000 barrels of oil per day.
There are three stages involved for expatriates coming into Nigeria to take up employment.
Stage one – applying for an Expatriate Quota Approval papers
Stage two – applying for a “subject to regularization” (STR Visa)
Stage three – applying for a CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence permit and Alien Card)
The Expatriate Quota Approval papers are the first step of obtaining a work permit in Nigeria. The Expatriate Quota Approval papers need to be applied for at the office of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Once your Expatriate Quota Approval Papers has been secured from the office of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Total E&P Nigeria will apply to the Nigeria Embassy in your location for the Subject to Regularization (STR Visa) of which you will be invited for the issuance of the STR Visa.
Your CERPAC (Combined Expatriate Residence permit and Alien Card) will be secured by Total E&P Nigeria as soon as you arrive in Nigeria.
Before Total E&P Nigeria proceed with the application to the Nigeria Embassy in your location for the STR Visa, the company has to first of all secure your Expatriate Quota Approval papers from the office of the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) in Nigeria.
The following are the required documents for application to the office of the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration service for the Expatriate Quota Approval Papers.
1. Proof of acceptance of employment (Signed letter of employment)
2. Copy of the photo page of your international passport.
3. Expatriate Medical Insurance Policy coverage certificate (EMIP) (This is only obtainable from Insurance companies in Nigeria)
Once the Expatriate Quota Approval papers has been secured, Total E&P Nigeria will apply to the Nigeria Embassy in your location for the Subject to Regularization Visa (STR Visa).
You are now required to provide the following documents so that Total E&P Nigeria will apply to the Nigeria Immigration service for your Expatriate Quota Approval Papers.
1. Copy of the photo page of your international passport

You are also required provide information of the nearest airport to your location in view of the booking of your flight ticket to Nigeria.
Your Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) and Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) must be valid and up to date.
If they are not up to date or you have not taken these training courses, please indicate so that we will make arrangements for our trainers to train you as soon as you arrive here.
