Hello my good friend,

How are you? With response to my initial email, I know you must have been worried about my inability to write immediately. We are on the forefront due to the withdrawal of all U.S. forces from Afghanistan. I do hope you are having a great weekend.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/05/28/withdrawing-afghanistan-is-hindering-us-military-readiness-that-proves-why-its-right-move/
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/05/25/us/politics/us-afghanistan-withdrawal.html
and the question remained unanswered, will Afghanistan become a Terrorism zone in the nearest future? https://www.nytimes.com/2021/04/13/us/politics/afghanistan-terrorism-threat.html

I am a company grade 1302 combat engineer officer with 9 years of active service and two combat deployments, one to Iraq and the other to Afghanistan where I am, I was able to participate in and lead numerous combat operations. In Iraq as the II MEF Director, Lioness Program, I served as a subject matter expert for II MEF, assisting regimental and battalion commanders on ways to integrate female Marines into combat operations. I primarily focused on expanding the mission of the Lioness Program from searching females to engaging local nationals and information gathering, broadening the ways females were being used in a wide variety of combat operations from census patrols to raids. Presently I am deployed as a 1302 and led a combat engineer platoon in direct support of Regimental Combat Team 8, specifically operating out of the Upper Sangin Valley. My platoon operation is constructing patrol bases (PBs) in support of 3d Battalion, 5th Marines; 1st Battalion, 5th Marines; 2d Reconnaissance Battalion; and 3d Battalion, 4th Marines. This combat experience, in particular, compelled me to raise concern over the direction and overall reasoning behind opening the 03XX field.

As a member of the United States Marine Corps (USMC), my years in Iraq and the few months I have spent here, I have been a witness to a lot of sad, horrific, mean and wicked action perpetuated by this terrorist groups (Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Taliban...) etc, all claim religious bigots and militants. I am working on a book that would detail my experience when I eventually retire. I have attached some of my most recent pictures to this email.

It is the most recent posting that has landed me a good fortune which I intend to share with you. After about a month in the new house I was allocated I noticed that there was a hidden door in the wardrobe that leads to an underground cellar. What I discovered in the underground cellar was quite revealing. I discovered two containers stashed with United States dollars. Ever since this discovery I have been unable to concentrate as I have been confused on the exact action to take. I have informed no one, I do not intend to inform the authority. I intend to help myself. I have been weighing a lot of options on how best to make these funds my own without the knowledge of the authority.

As you must be aware the American troops in Iraq/Afghanistan have served with distinction. There is strict observance to rules and ordinance. There is also a systematic probing and investigation of all troops to make sure that there are no unlawful activities. We are trained to report any suspicious movement involving anybody that might tarnish the image of America. Because of this singular fact it has been very difficult for me to neither tell anyone nor spend a dollar out of the money. I have tried to carry on as if all is well with me.

I have decided to act after a month plus because I might be re-deployed out of my present location anytime. If this happens without me taking action on the money I have discovered, I will ever live to regret my inaction as it is an opportunity for me to be financially solvent forever. I need your help in order to make this a reality.

There is this patient in the military hospital, is a diplomat and we have been friends due to the assistance I rendered him then. I have known him for some time now. I have had extensive discussions with him on helping me transport some goods abroad. He has agreed in principle to help me. The reason why I am bringing a diplomat into it is that diplomats have immunity. Whatever they carry or transport across countries are covered by diplomatic immunity. It cannot be searched or opened by anybody, be it customs, police or secret service. The goods are often covered with diplomatic seals. The goods will get to its destination without problems. Please be informed that I will not tell the diplomat the real content of the containers. The diplomat will deliver the containers to you.

Using the diplomat makes this process completely risk free. The worst scenario is that the diplomat will be sent back with the baggage if there is any suspicion. He cannot be arrested, the goods cannot be impounded. He will merely be returned to the country he is coming from. This is where you come in. Your duties or responsibility will be to receive the containers which contain the money from the diplomat. You are to keep it safe until I come to meet with you where we will discuss the modalities for sharing and engage in partnership while investing, this will be after my unqualified resignation from active duty.

I need someone I can trust, someone I can rely on, someone who will be truthful, frank and honest. Someone who will agree to assist me and be involved throughout the period the process will last. Someone I can count on to act as a genuine and an interested party. I want you to go through this email carefully and get back to me. We can begin to discuss further details once I hear back from you.

For utmost confidentiality I will appreciate that all our communication is done through email for now, it will be dangerous to communicate through the telephone as phones are often wired or tapped, calls often traced or intercepted especially in this location due to terrorist activities. This is one of the security precautions that we must take.

If you are interested in being part of this process I will require the following from you.

1] Email address {if you have other(s) apart from this one}
2] Any identification or photograph (a simple picture will be ok}
3] You can also include other information such as age, occupation and any other information that will help us get acquainted further.

As soon as I receive the above details in good faith, I will kick the ball rolling while we wait for the eagle to land.

Best regards,

Cpt. Emily Naslund, a member of the United States Marine Corps.

Hello my dear friend,

How are you? With regards to my initial email to you, the Diplomat is out of town on a Diplomatic assignment to Iran, but he has given the green light. Arrangements are now in top gear. I have now packed the containers and moved to a safe place from where it will be taken to the airport for onward delivery to you. I have attached a copy of the picture I took before moving the money to a safe place. I took it privately in the cellar. I also removed the sum of US$10,000 to be used by the diplomat to settle all outstanding expenses while on the trip, I will appreciate it if you still have some funds in your possession, about US$1,800:00 to US$2,500:00 will be okay just in case. I intend to give him more funds, but it might raise eyebrows and question on where and how I am able to get the entire fund. Please the diplomat does not know the content of what he's carrying. He does not know that it contains cash. You must never in your conversation with the diplomat mention this. Please be reminded. I have also informed the diplomat that you are my cousin (family member) from my mother's side. I have told him you are taking delivery of the container and keeping it safe until my return.

The diplomat will be traveling this weekend as I earlier did inform you in my previous message. The name of the diplomat is Dr. Eddy Kasdian. He is a top diplomat attached to the Indonesia Embassy in Kuwait, he is an Indonesian and has been in the diplomatic mission for over 8 years. He is articulate, well educated and eloquent. I have known him for some time and he has been very good to me.

His email address is <eddy.kasdian@yahoo.co.id> and <eddy.kasdian@indonesian-embassy-diplomats.com> I will strongly advise that you send an email to him and introduce yourself. I have told him about you. I have not been able to pass your detailed information to him, including your email address. He is supposed to call you as soon as he arrives. Please be nice to him and await his call, he has a strong ascent, I hope this does not constitute a communication problem between the two of you.

As I earlier told you the diplomat does not know the content of the containers. You should never discuss this with him. You should never mention this. Please confirm that you clearly understand this and hope you will not fail me. I see this as an opportunity to fulfill my dreams. I have taken my time and pains to plan this process and now that it is about to be executed I am feeling really excited about it. I hope you will fulfill your part of the bargain.

Meanwhile, I would like a confirmation email that you are already in communication with him. I am on active duty here and soon to be coming back home or tender my unqualified resignation from active duty. I know I can rely on you when it comes to investing the money which I have earned in the "Military" and I know the real-estate and construction business provides a very good return on investments, but will await your ideas, suggestions and opinion.

Have a wonderful day and stay blessed,

Regards,

Cpt. Emily Naslund, a member of the United States Marine Corps.
