Thank you for taking out the time to read my email. I will go straight to the point.
The Covid-19 cases in my country are increasing at an alarming rate. Over 34 health workers have lost their lives, 41 new cases were reported yesterday alone in Manila but the DOH (Department Of Health) isn’t giving the actual figures as families are having their loved ones buried by themselves and the DOH is totally clueless or too ignorant to report or act on this. Rodrigo Duterte is such a terrible President if I am permitted to admit this but the world has failed to acknowledge that simple fact. People are dying by the scores and families are starving, the news reaching me is quite heartbreaking.
I am looking to raise the sum of $100,000.0 which will be used in the purchase of food items, masks, and sanitizers for people who live in the villages and inaccessible areas during this shutdown. I thank the heavens for putting people like yourself on this platform and I will always be appreciative of this. Would you be willing to donate to this cause I’m championing! Nothing is too big, nothing is too small in the eye of the less privileged. I myself have witnessed abject poverty so I understand the pains families are going through at the moment.
I have selected 4 of the poorest areas in the Philippines which I will be championing this cause and these areas are namely
1- Eastern Samar, which is a province in the Visayas with a poverty rate of 65.4%, they are badly hit as their main source of income in this area is agriculture and fishery but unfortunately are suffering a poor the health system in the area.
2- Maguindanao. This province is quite popular as it is where the maguindano massacre took place where 57 people were slaughtered including the wife and sisters & supporters of the Bulan vice mayor Esmael Mangudadatu.
3- Nothern Samar which is one of the 3 provinces that make up the Island of Samar.
4- Apayao which is a densely populated province in the Luzon Region.
I have reached out to some of the health workers in these areas notified them of my intention as I couldn't bear the news I'd been hearing. Once I achieve my goal, I will redistribute these funds equally among these regions in the purchase and sharing of food items and essential needs among the highly impoverished people. The small business owners are taking a very hard hit as the big banks aren't even loaning out money to small business owners with the claim that they have run out of funds, which is similar to what is happening in the United States. But I know for a fact that the way the the system works is who you know and how much strings you can pull and the big companies obviously have the upper hand here so small business owners are left to suffer and now all the banks are shut down with the government also threatening to declare Martial Law in the country.
I pray your heart is touched in assisting me champion this cause, as whatever you willingly donate will be highly appreciated. I am currently in the Philippines now overseeing and working with some small groups. It's rather overwhelming here.
